LING WRITE THIS GUIDE BECAUSE OTHER WEBSITES LIE TO YOU! Ling spend thirty years watching copier supplier. Ling know who cheap. Ling know who expensive. Ling know who try to make you pay for things you not need. Here is what Ling actually see in the UK market in 2026.

THE REAL PRICES — NO RUBBISH

Here is what copier lease cost in UK right now. Ling not round up. Ling not hide. These numbers real.

  • Small A4 copier (desk-size): £25–£40 per month. Good for small office, under 1,000 pages.
  • Bigger A4 colour MFP: £30–£55 per month. For team of 10–20 people.
  • A3 standing copier (big one): £50–£80 per month. Mid-volume. Most offices need this.
  • A3 with finisher (stapler, booklet): £80–£180 per month. Ling see many businesses pay £180 when £80 machine fine for them. DO NOT DO THIS!
  • A3 production machine: £150–£300+ per month. For print shop or big company. Most small business not need.

CLICK CHARGE — THIS IS WHERE SUPPLIER MAKE REAL MONEY

Lease price not the only cost. You also pay per page. Call it click charge. Normal UK rate 2026:

  • Black and white page: £0.003 to £0.007
  • Colour page: £0.040 to £0.060

If you print 3,000 pages black + 500 colour each month? You pay £34–£51/month JUST IN CLICKS. Often more than lease itself. LING GET SUPPLIER TO LOWER CLICK RATE — this is where real saving come from.

BRAND BY BRAND — LING HONEST TAKE

RICOH: Very reliable. Good for busy office. Sometimes pricey. Ling still like.

CANON: Middle ground. Nothing bad to say. Nothing amazing either. Safe choice.

KONICA MINOLTA: Good colour. Popular with design firms. Click charge sometimes high.

KYOCERA: LING'S FAVOURITE FOR VALUE! Drum last forever. Click charge lowest. Not fancy but works. Ling recommend for small-medium business who want cheap running cost.

XEROX: Big name. Sometimes big price tag too. Service good in big cities.

SHARP: Okay. Not Ling favourite. Ling see too many reliability issues last few years.

HP / BROTHER / EPSON: These more printer than copier. Good for small desktop. Not for busy office.

RED FLAGS LING SEE CONSTANTLY

  • Quote with click rate above £0.008 mono or £0.065 colour — too high, negotiate or walk away
  • Minimum monthly volume higher than your actual usage — you pay for pages you never print
  • Annual click rate increase above 5% — supplier counting on you not noticing
  • Auto-renewal clause without written notice requirement — this is how you get trapped
  • Early termination cost = 100% of remaining rentals — bad, negotiate for buy-out
  • Paper included in lease — usually gimmick, works out more expensive than buying paper yourself
  • "Used as new" machine — Ling see supplier sell refurbished at new price. ASK IF NEW OR USED!
